7 Things to Do With Your Dog This Summer

May 01, 2020

Summer is coming up quick! Many people are planning their to-do lists for the next few months. Don’t forget to include Fido in your plans! A Seminole, FL vet makes a few ‘pawesome’ suggestions in this article.

Have A Dog Party

June 21st is Dog Party Day! Have a few friends and family members bring their canine pals over for a barbeque. Set out lots of toys and treats for your furry guests, and do a potluck for the people. Just make sure Fido’s buddies are all well-behaved, and current on vaccinations and parasite control.

Enjoy A Cold Snack

There’s no better way to cool off on a sweltering summer day than by enjoying a cold snack. There are lots of options here! You can buy doggy ice cream at many grocery stores and pet shops. Or, just make your own! Look online for dog-safe recipes.

Take A Photo

Summer’s golden light can make for some amazing pet photos. Many of you likely have dozens of pet photos already. However, why not get some shots of you and Fido together? Enlist a buddy to snap some pictures of you and your four-legged friend.

Visit A Beach

Florida’s beautiful beaches are just as fun for dogs as they are for people. Just be sure to stick with pet-safe beaches. These are often safer for dogs, as they don’t typically have steep slopes or heavy wakes. Also, bring lots of water along for Fido.

Splash Around

Does your furry bff like swimming? Get Fido a kiddie pool to play in, or set up a sprinkler so he can splash around. Watching your pup frolicking in the water is bound to put a smile on your face!

Explore A Park

Florida is home to some very beautiful parks and trails. Explore a new spot with your canine buddy, and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. Your dog will get to sniff some new grass, and you can relax, unwind, and get some exercise!

Enjoy A Sunset

Those stunning summer sunsets just never get old. They’re also a good reminder to relax and just appreciate the natural beauty around us, and savor some time with our friends and families. Pets count as both in our book!
